Getting Started with the Desktop App
Starting the application
Launch DPD Label Print from the desktop shortcut or Start menu.
The launcher window appears and the backend service starts automatically. Once ready, your browser opens at http://localhost:8088.

The application backend is a local service — keep the launcher window open while working. Closing the launcher stops the backend.
First login
Enter your username and password on the login page.
If you have multiple accounts or pickup addresses, select the appropriate one after login.
Dashboard overview
| Area | Description |

| Navigation menu | All features: Shipments, Address Book, Pickup, Reports, Settings |
| Quick create | Start a new shipment immediately |
| Recent shipments | Last 10 shipments with status |
| Notifications | News from DPD and system messages |
Configure your account
Before your first shipment:
- Go to Settings → Account
- Confirm your invoicing number
- Set your default sender address (or configure multiple pickup addresses)
- Set your preferred label format (A4 or A6)
- Choose your printer (for automatic label printing)
- Configure your database mode: PostgreSQL (default) or SQLite/offline
