Data Sources

A data source watches a folder for files and imports them automatically, without you having to press Import file yourself. It processes each file it finds with a chosen profile, and can optionally archive the file and print labels afterwards. Each data source is tied to a single pickup address.

note

Data sources use interval polling only — there is no cron-style scheduler. Each data source is checked at the interval you set for it in Step 2.

note

The Data sources tab appears only in the desktop app.

Step 1 — Information

Set whether the data source is enabled, its Profile (required), and the Source of files (Local folder, FTP server, or SFTP server).

Import path appears only when the source is a Local folder. For FTP server or SFTP server, this step instead asks for Server, Port (1–65535), Login, Password, and Remote path — all required.

Step 2 — Details

For every source type, this step sets:

  • Use semaphore files
  • Use interval check (seconds) — how often this data source is checked; default 10, range 5–9999
  • Error folder (optional)
  • Create error log file
  • Archive folder
  • Use semaphore files in archive

Some options only appear depending on the source type or the chosen profile:

  • Use local folder for error/archiveFTP and SFTP only; default on
  • Include parcel number in archive file — only when the chosen profile is a CSV profile
  • Print labels after processing — not shown for Addresses profiles
  • Select printer (optional, default printer used if empty) — appears only once Print labels after processing is ticked

Pickup address scoping

Each data source belongs to a single pickup address.
